Hi, everyone! The new studying year started a month ago… But I’m really-really happy to study again ’cause in summer I suffered from a lack of speaking English. Now we’re catching up what we forgot and study new things as well.

Life and Studies

Now I live in the dorm that is near the uni. It’s so strange to me that the way to the uni takes only 2–3 mins ’cause I’ve never lived so close to the place where I studied. It always took at least 20–30 mins. Besides, my roomates are nice people who don’t disturb me when I study. I was afraid that I would lose the concentration constantly.

I like the subjects this semester. We have a looot of disciplines but I still feel and see that now we have more free time. But it’s better to spend the time properly. For instance, I’ve started to learn new C1 and C2 vocabulary in the app MemRise. I’m gaga about the app because there are memes which help you remember new phrases faster. Besides, I took a course on Coursera. The teachers in the course are awesome.

Español. Well, everyone knows that I really wanted to study French as the second language. But okay, things happen. Now I understand Spanish is not so bad as I thought before. But I still love French more than Spanish. Our Spanish teacher is passionate about the language and it helps to like Spanish somehow. Also, I have some friends whose mother tongue is Spanish. I practice my Spanish with them :D Also, I’ve started learning new Spanish phrases in MemRise as well.

Little Women.

I’m so happy that we read the book ’cause I always heard about Little Women. Also, Ms.B. recommended to read this work.

The language of the book:

  1. It’s easy to read, but you find out new C1 and C2 vocabulary constantly. The mixture of simplicity and difficulty is perfect.
  2. I try to understand why Louisa May Alcott used that tense in the case. It’s absorbing to dive into the grammar of the book.
  3. I like the way the author describes events. It’s just pleasant to read.

Phonetics. Now we learn English phonetics on higher level. Yes, it’s hard. But I like when I don’t understand something for a long time and I spend much time on AT LEAST a bit of understanding, and then smth changed in my mind and I understand EVERYTHING. I love this feeling. I think after some weeks I will get everything and feel these emotions again :)

Health. I’ve decided to spend more time on health this year ’cause I didn’t do as many exercises and other things as I do right now. I’ve started to stretch REGULARLY.

That’s all for today. Thanks for your attention! Feel free to ask any questions.
