Hey, everyone. I watched the film The Devil Wears Prada on the vacation. Now I’d like to express my opinion about the movie with answering the questions.

1. Describe Andy Sachs before she got the job at Runway.

• Andy’s appearance.

On her first working days at Runway she wore unfashionable clothes. For instance, on one of her days Andy had a blue long-sleeved sweater, a light-blue shirt under the sweater, and a cheched medium skirt on.

• Andy’s manners.

Andy had an ordinary lifestyle: work and home. She spent her every evening with Nate. Sometimes, she met with her friends.

• Andy’s hobbies.

We didn’t find out her specific hobbies, but I think Andy liked journalism, hanging out with her friends, and spending time with her boyfriend.

• Andy’s relationships.

Andy had a really good relationship with her boyfriend: they cooked for each other, talked about what they did and saw during the day, and enjoyed every minute. As for her friends, they had a good time, hanging out in the city.

2. What changed when Andy decided to really try and do her job well?

Andy changed her style: she started to learn fashion and to look like the other workers at Runway. Besides, the character catered Miranda Priestly in everything: she awnswered every her boss’ call, wore only fancy clothes, and did impossible things like getting the draft of the new chapters Harry Potter. Also, the relationship with Nate became worse. They stopped spending evening together. As for her appearace, she lost weight to have a size 4 and had a beautiful makeup every day.

3. Describe Andy’s boss Miranda Priestly in detail + describe one of her outfits.

Miranda is a person for whom time is money. She is selfish because she cares only about her life, job, appearance, clothes, and other material things. As for her appearance, she is a middle-aged woman who takes care of her skin, hair, makeups and controls her weight.

Also, Miranda is a hard-working person. Thanks to her Runway is popular.

As for her outfit, she is wearing a long black off-shoulder dress, the gold earrings, and the rings.

4. Discribe Andy’s immediate supervisor Emily + describe one of her outfits.

Emily is a brown-hoser and a gossip person. Besides, she loves her job, so she is resposible. Also, Emily didn’t like Andy at first because she was a competitor. Later we noticed that she is jealous, too much emotional, rude, and not friendly.

As for her outfit, at the episode she is wearing a brown checked dress with a V-neck, the earrings, and the black thick bracelet.

5. Describe five of Andy’s many outfits that she sports throughout the film.

Andy is wearing a black tight-fitting dress with a V-neck and short lace sleeves and a small bag.

Andy is wearing a green medium overcoat with a leopard collar and leopard cuffs, a black bag, black sunglasses, white gloves, and golden shoes.

Andy is wearing a black tight jacket, a beige sequin dress, dark-brown thigh high boots, and a green knitted bag.

Here Andy is wearing a dark-green sweeatheart neck dress with a big green belt, black gloves, and a small golden bag.

On the last picture she is wearing a snow white overcoat with the belt of the same color, a light-gray checked hat, beige gloves, a gray sequin bag, and blue shoes.

6. What did you learn about the fashion industry in the USA?

I learnt a few things about the fashion industry in the USA. Firstly, people who work in a company like Runway really like fashion, and they are ready to change their style accroding to the last fashion. Secondly, wearing fabulous clothes is expensive, and it takes much time to make different outfits with small details, which are really important in every outfit. Thirdly, if you care about your style too much, your nearest and dearest won’t understand you, and you will have problems.

7. If someone asked you what the main idea of the film is, what would you say?

I think the main idea is not to dive into your work and appreciate your nearest and dearest. We need to find a balance between work and family. There is no work that will be more important than your family. Also, being a kind person is one of the film’s idea.

8. What did you personally learn from watching the film? What did it make you think about? What conclusions did you make?

I learnt that for someone work is a big deal, it’s a whole life. But they should remember about their family. Besides, I understood when I have any free minute, I can write my mom something pleasant. Of course, I talk to her every day, but this film made me think about how much time I spent with my mom even online. What can I change in my schedule to talk to her more? Maybe I need to stop and think about my life in general? What do I like now? What do I want to change in my life right now? What can I do for it? Also, I changed my way of doing home assignments and other things. Now it’s much better, and I have time for doing all homework and the outstanding assignments.
